OryCon 1998 The awards are based on the after-event report submitted by James Wilsonsage and consultation with the RST's office. VOLUNTEERING The base awards for this are calculated using the same sliding scale that was used for RustyCon; however, there is no predetermined minimum amount of regional prestige. While OryCon loves the Cam for the incredible amount of work we did for them, there were problems on teh Cam side of things, such as manning the Cam table and with the Cam Room Party. In general, one-third of the prestige awards for hours volunteered at the con will be regional; exceptional volunteering will receive greater ratios of regional prestige. All of the follwing awards are in the category of "Con Service/ help-force." The list of volunteers provided by James Wilsonsage did not break out any people who worked the Cam table; if you did, contact him at .
PRE-EVENT/ VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS/ OTHER ORGANIZATIONAL These awards do not count against the monthly caps, as they are for work done well in advance of OryCon.
Kwei-Cee's and Jess' records and efficiency far outstripped the other volunteer corrdinators, and James was the overall event coordinator. OTHER CON SERVICES These people sat in on panels with short notice, and did a bang-up job.
STORYTELLING There are no awards for the STs, as there was no info given to me, to RST Mario Medina,or the Executive ARST Randy Ochs for the STs activities at OryCon 1998. If some info is given to Mario and/or Randy before 6pm of Monday, 15 Feb 98, they may be able to recommend some prestige awards for the ST side of things. OTHER ITEMS Several members served as members of the OryCon Convention Committee, and a question was raised about prestige awards for they work they did as committee members. I'm sorry, but there will be no prestige awards for the work they did as Convention Committee members. Those positions are appointed or elected by the OryCon Executive Committee, not volunteered. It is unfair to award prestige for the massive amounts of hours generated by fulfilling these positions, since the Executive Committee has filled them for their own purposes. They are not available to the general membership to volunteer for, but chosen by a non-Camarilla entity (the Executive Committee). Tracy Soldan NWRC #9510-049 |
