Graphics & Publication Design

Step 1: Generic logo

Deadline: ASAP after signing convention contract
Requirements:

  • Clearly readable, striking design
  • Name of convention
  • Location of convention
  • .PSD format, 300 dpi

What it's for: First run approval by the NCA staff. To serve as a basis for your other logos. This can be as simple as a fancy-text mockup of the convention name, if you want. IF you are going to use this as the basis for your Tshirt logo, make it at 600 dpi. IF you are going to use this as the basis for your print logo, make it at 300 dpi. (Most conventions have two logos -- a more complex logo for print and/or web, and a simpler t-shirt logo.)

Step 2: Convention ad

Deadline: Dependent on convention schedule; at least 12 weeks before convention.
Requirements:

  • Clearly readable, eye-catching design
  • Name of convention
  • Location of convention
  • Dates of convention
  • Hotel rates
  • Camarilla logo incorporated in the design
  • White Wolf logo incorporated in the design

What's it for: To pimp your convention in other conventions' program books. It needs to be readable in black and white and on a half-page of a convention book (about the size of a 3x5 card). A good ad will help pull more proven convention-goers to your convention.

Step 3: Web logo

Deadline: 12 weeks before convention.
Requirements:

  • Clearly readable, full-color, eye catching design
  • Name of convention
  • Location of convention
  • Dates of convention
  • Camarilla logo incorporated in the design
  • White Wolf logo incorporated in the design
  • .gif, .jpg, or .png file format, 72 dpi

What's it for: To serve as the graphic centerpiece of your convention website. The more professional-looking your website, the better the impression people will get of your convention. (Depending on the layout of your convention logo, we may allow you to put the Camarilla and WW logos elsewhere on the convention web page, but any page with the logo must also have the Cam and WW logos, so it will save you A LOT of time and effort to incorporate them from the start.)
