19th Century
- 1822 - Appearing without any prior history in Kindred society, Elena Barrojo de Lagos and her brother Eduardo return vampiric control of Lisbon to Portuguese hands through a combination of careful diplomacy and unnervingly accurate intelligence. Elena takes the position of "Matriarch of Lisbon", a position analogous to Prince with influence extending well beyond Lisbon's borders. Eduardo takes up the shadowy position of "Inspector".
- 1822 - 1853 - The vampires of Lisbon experience a population boom, as Elena grants the Right of Progeny to most vampires... as long as they are of Portuguese blood.
- 1853 - Elena and Eduardo engage in a heated political debate in the middle of court, which ends with Elena throwing aside the scepter of the Matriarch and storming out of the gathering. Eduardo seizes power as Prince of Lisbon.
- 1853 - 1856 - Eduardo institutes minor changes in structure, including a formalized position of Harpy. However his reign is marked by instability amongst the Prisci Council.
- 1856 - Under intense pressure from the Prisci, Eduardo de Lagos steps down from the Princedom in a bloodless coup.
- 1856 - 1861 - No clear candidate for Prince can be found. The Prisci suspect that the De Lagos siblings are deliberately undermining any possible claimants to the throne, while at the same time preventing the struggles for power to disrupt "their" city. Tensions between the Invictus and a splinter faction of the First Estate (proto-Carthians?) rise to a fever pitch.
- 1861 - A Neonate member of the splinter faction is found dead in a public square. Elena and Eduardo threaten to withdraw their protection of Lisbon unless the factions agreed to a radical power-sharing plan.
- 1861 - 1900 - The Invictus and the splinter faction alternate holding the Princedom in 5-year blocks, maintaining the stability and peace within Lisbon's Kindred community.

20th Century
- 1901 - 1929 - The Invictus and the splinter faction continue alternating the Princedom in 5-year blocks, as per Elena's plan.
- 1930 - The splinter faction tires of sharing power with the Invictus, and begin plans to stage a bloody coup. Their primary targets are the heads of the Invictus, as well as Elena and Eduardo de Lagos. The De Lagos siblings, seeing the winds of political change from both the vampiric factions, and from the rising power of Antonio de Oliveira Salazar, decide to leave their home country and travel to America. Their sudden departure confuses the splinter faction, who seize power but without killing any one. They spend the next decade looking for Elena and Eduardo's spies, convinced the siblings are still watching.
