  • 1826 - Spencer, Lord Cavendish decides to leave The East Indies following a series of disagreements concerning the direction of the Company and the mortal governing of the region. His next destination.... Singapore.

18th Century

  • 1774 -- After arriving in Bombay a few years earlier, Spencer, Lord Cavendish made his way to Calcutta, where he met with the Prince, Christopher Marchant, and began a long standing friendship that continues to this day.. His Lordship becomes an informal advisor to a number of British Governors-General -- including Charles, Lord Cornwallis and William Hastings -- on issues relating to Company business, territorial expansion, and military strategy.... specifically with the Anglo-Myrore and Anglo-Maratha skirmishes.
